"Downtown Jonas" The road going up the hill is Jonas Mountain, which goes all the way up to the one end of Indian Mtn. Lakes development. In this photo, the large white building on the other side of the barns was the Hotel Jonas, an historic landmark. Back in the 1970s when I was young, I would ride with my parents in our snowmobile club, from Long Pond, down the pipeline, across fields and through woods...to the Jonas Hotel for dinner. In winter, their whole parking lot was filled with snowmobiles. When new owners bought it sometime maybe in the late '80s/early '90s, they continued as a restaurant and had a beautiful bar. Karaoke nights were fun. The building now houses the Valor Clinic Foundation, a non-profit that helps veterans.
