Lincoln Statue in original location, east of Charleston Illinois. Statue was erected in late 1960s, early 1970s. Statue was moved in 1980s or 1990s to just east of Embarras river on the north side Illinois Route 16, behind the Charleston Speedway.
Original location was approximately 39.484217, -88.136152 .
Current location in December 2016 is 39.517150, -88.106866 .
whyd they move it>??
This original location was going to overlook a large lake that was going to be built. Plans for the lake fell through and the statue was the subject of much vandalism.
