My family lived here from Christmas 1961 to Christmas 1964. I know a lot of its oral history. The barn that was next to the silos burned to the ground probably in the fall of 1963. It was a wonderful place for a child. The house was dated to 1853, but I don't know if that was the original cabin which became the laundry room or if it was the final, grander portion of the house. All the workmen are there because the cornfield west of the house was the lumber and building supply yard for the construction of Woodridge. We watched them drill and build the Woodridge water tower on the other side of Hobson. I could go on and on.
