5380 IL. Hwy 133, Redmon, Il. 61944
Wood Family Home since 1919.The house was built in about 1888. Abner Lyman Wood and wife Phoebe Gertrude VanSickle Wood bought the property in 1919. The house was located on the edge of Redmon, Il. and was named "Edgeville Farm". In 1935 the highway was being dicussed to run behind the house between Abner's house and his cattle/farmland. Abner made many trips to Springfield, Il. by train to stop this from happening. He had success because the highway 133 runs in front of the house. In 1959 Abner's son William Robert Wood "Bob" and wife Doris Maude Arrasmith Wood inherited "Edgeville Farm". In 1966 a tornado took out the original barn, scale house and garage. Bob built new barn and new shed seen in this photo. The bins, hog house and chicken house are gone now. In 2008 Will Abner Wood (Great grandson of Abner L.Wood and wife Donna Barnes Wood purchased "Edgeville Farm" from the Wood Family Estate.
