This is Yale School! Only the gym remains! Andy's barn is no longer standing. I was 6 when this was taken. I LOVE these pictures I grew up here!!!!

I grewup here but didn

I went to all 8 grades of this school. My home can be seen in the picture. You can see it, upper left hand corner and my parents we living there when this picture was taken. Such memories.

All three of our children attended this school. It was a wonderful environment with caring teachers and administrators.

I attended all 8 grades in this Yale school. Originally, it was the square brick building on the left--with 3 classrooms. 1,2,3 grade with Mrs. Esther Hall; 4,5,6 grade with Mr. Floyd Hall; 7, 8 grades with Principal Clayborne Cummins. Then about 1950, a wing was built, which added one classroom and BATHROOMS. All teachers taught two grades, with the addition of Mrs. Helen Makepeace as 3 & 4 grade teacher. When I was in 7, 8 grades, a complete change of faculty--Beverly Watt Turkal and Carolyn Wilson Coverstone were both first year teachers. My mother, Effie Bailey, taught 5 & 6 grades. . .and Bernie Waren was principal and 7,8 grade teacher. In 1955, planning was begun on the gymnasium addition, which was completed the next year.

Was blessed to live here also just to the north of the school the house is also gone just a garage of the neighbours now.....so many memoriesπŸ’–πŸ’”πŸ’–

Dave Thompson was principal from 1962-71 or 72 when the Jasper County consolidated. Wilma Spencer was Secretary starting in 1958.

Attended this school from 4th through 6th grade (89-92). Awesome teachers and staff and a ton of great memories!

I went to all 8 grades at Yale. Those were the good old days! I had lots of the same teachers Sandra mentioned in an earlier comment. Had some good times and saw 4 of my classmates at our reunion a couple of years ago.

I am also a Yale graduate as I love to tell everyone!

Went there 1st-6th. Jasper country schools and kids went throughout the country.

As a retired educator (in the Chicago area), I always loved sharing with my students my pride in being the β€œValedictorian” (I volunteered before anyone else!) of my graduating class (1970) from Yale. And that I personally knew the Athletic Director of Yale (David Thompson, 7th & 8th grade teacher/School Principal /Softball and Basketball Coach).
