This building is still standing and is a car wash. It is located on Rt. 83 just north of the Rt.83 and Center St. intersection.
Grayslake Car Wash opened in 1966 and closed in 2002, then reopened until 2006. Currently, a good muffler shop. Vern's gas station (Richard Bardeau) rented this location out (raided by the Feds for gambling - bookie joint in early 1960s).
This was run by Tom Reuss father,Vern.I believe he also at the same time ran the little gas station to the south where rt83 intersected with RT 137 next to Sheehans 2 tavern
