Corner of Route 12 and Rout 134. Big Hollow Elementary School is featured directly above the intersection (southeast corner). The original school building is in the middle, flanked by the gymnasium and classrooms on the right, and the "new" classroom addition (built in the late 1960s) to the left. To the right (south) of the baseball fields was the Middle School, built in the early 1970s. Both buildings have since been torn down, and the schools relocated to a joint site several miles southeast on Nippersink Road.

My siblings and I attended Big Hollow School(s); our mother, Marion Kubetz was the school nurse during the 1960s and early 70s and my father, Richard Kubetz served on the school board.

My family went to school here.

We lived there from '64 to 72, and my dad was actually president of the school board when they built the middle school. Big Hollow Class of '72, but we ended up moving north halfway through my freshman year at Grant. Still have fond memories of that area, lived across the channel from the little island between Redhead Lake and Meyer's Bay, learned to ski at Holiday Park.
