Located at 3102 N. Chapel Hill Rd. in McHenry just south of Johnsburg, Albert A. "Alby" Adams (1929-2015) owned the Adams Repair Shop that provided lawnmower and snowmobile service since the 1950s. His residence was located behind the shop at 1910 W. Bay Rd. The business was started by his father, Otto Adams (1899-1987) in the 1940s. Albert was the McHenry Township Clerk (12 years), Township Supervisor (17 years), founding member of the Johnsburg Rescue Squad (1952), organizer and founding member of the McHenry Township Fire Protection District Company Two, Johnsburg School District 12 board member, and McHenry County board member.
