Looking northwest into downtown Chenoa, Illinois. The railroad is the Illinois Central Gulf, former Gulf, Mobile and Ohio. The Standard gas station is located along South Morehead Street. U. S. Route 24, Cemetery Street is the main road running thru the photo. Morehead was the original, of three (!!!) alignments for U. S. Route 66. The 'CHENOA O->', on the building, guides aircraft to the small landing strip located just northeast of town.
