I grew up here on the Fred Taylor farm. It's all gone now. It was a wonderful place to grow up and Fred was a great man who would load us all up in the back of the truck to see what needed done.

The house and main barn on the left was built in the 1850's Of black walnut. The floor joists in the house were round oak beams. There were 12 rooms and 3 walk in closets, one of which measured 10x10. To the right side was an orchard with several kinds of nut and fruit trees. There was also raspberry bushes, rhubarb and asparagus patches. Because of the 5 huge maple trees in the front and side yards, raking was an all day family affair.
