This was the Soseman farm originally owned by George Ouderkirk . George purchased this farm for his daughter and son-in-law. The farm was later owned by their son Jason and daughter-in-law Amanda until they moved out of state in 2017.
Thank you for your comment, Jason! It's always interesting to learn about the history of properties captured in our Vintage Aerial photos. Do you have any memories of the Soseman farm growing up in Mercer County? What changes have you noticed in the area since the photo was taken in 1969?
To date all of the buildings in this picture have been removed, the home still remains. During my ownership, I ran a recreational facility for Motorcycles and ATV's. I enjoyed hunting whitetail deer and riding dirtbikes. The new owner has replaced the old buildings with a new, larger farm building, updated the home and also enjoys hunting.
Hi Jason!
It sounds like it has undergone quite a transformation over the years. We love hearing stories about how properties change and evolve. Do you happen to remember any specific landmarks or features in the area back in 1969? We'd love to learn more about your experiences and what Mercer County was like during that time.
