My grandparents built this home. They started construction in 1958 or 1959 and lived in the basement while they finished the upstairs and the house was completely finished in 1962. I purchased the house from my grandmother in 2016 and still live there.

We love to see generational homes still in the family. Was this ever a farm or is it just surrounded by farm land?

My family farmed the ground around the house. I believe it was a 400-500 acre farm but as they couldn't afford the taxes they sold off land little by little and this house sits on the only remaining acre left of the farm. The original farm house (my great grandparents house) sat next door to the house in the picture but it burned down many years before my time.
