This is the old Stephenson County Poor Farm.

The large 2 story Stone Structure in the lower right corner later became a Nursing Home.

It is now the Stephenson County Antique Engine Club's "Silvercreek Museum"

The farm buildings are long gone, as is the house.

The water tower was still there supplying water for both the old and new nursing homes when the Engine Club was erecting the huge Cooper Corliss Steam Engine behind the (current) Museum, but it too was later removed and everything was hooked up to the City Water system.

Old Poor farm on South Walnut Road ,Freeport Illinois

The Water Tower is no longer standing

Across the street from the poor farm is the Sliver Creek and Stephenson Railroad Museum

The Silver Creek & Stephenson Rail Road is Across the road from the Silver Creek Museum. It is NOT the "Silver Creek and Stephenson Railroad Museum". . . BOTH The "Railroad" AND the "Museum" are Owned and operated by the Stephenson County Antique Engine Club. (as Already Noted previously)
