I grew up here; I would have been 7 years old when this was taken. The granary is no longer there; it was replaced by a metal shed. The white fence is also no longer there. I remember helping to paint that fence. I don't think the silo is there now either, and the house is painted a different color. The barn was being used as a dairy barn at the time of this photo, and the building directly to the left of the barn in the photo is the milkhouse. This hasn't been a dairy farm for about 35 or so years. We use to bale small square bales of hay and straw, and stored them in the mow of the barn. My sister and I spent countless hours playing in that haymow. We had no TV, Internet, video games, etc. and had to actually use our imaginations to play. There were always a million things to do on a dairy farm, and we had dogs, cats, and a Shetland pony. In the winter, the driveway was perfect to sled down. I miss those days and that farm.
