This was the former Rees School at the northwest corner of Rees and Dameier roads. The school would later become part of the Lena school district. The school operated through at least the 1955-56 school year, when it was reported by the Freeport Journal-Standard that Rees 6th grader Ronald Russell had placed runner-up in the Lena-Winslow District section of the Stephenson County spelling contest (April 13, 1956).

On March 29, 1958 the school building was sold at public auction.

A photo of the school as it was in 1918 is archived on the Lena-Winslow school district website:

These photos originated from a 1918-19 Stephenson County school directory. It contained photos of each school, along with the names of teachers and school board members.
