This was previously Wagner School. The July 25, 1959 edition of the Freeport Journal-Standard noted that the school had been made famous in 1946, with a young Wagner student on the cover of the October 28th edition of Life Magazine. The photo was part of a story about one-room schoolhouses. The school was located 1/4-mile east of the intersection of Ridott Road and Farwell Bridge Road. Wagner School closed in the 1950s and the building was sold at auction on the day of the Journal-Standard newspaper article.
