This was the former Kerlin School, a one-room schoolhouse constructed of stone, at the northeast corner of Kerlin and Baker roads. The Freeport Journal-Standard reported that Kerlin's 1953-54 enrollment of 15 children was the smallest of the 16 schools in the Lena-Winslow district.
