This area was the James Cremeens farm from 1949-1965. In the winter of 1949, James and his son William built most of the left portion of the house, adding some rooms to accommodate the family. The area didn't look much like this picture until 1966, when James' family had moved to Potomac and had rented the farmhouse for $25 a month, just to have "someone on the place". It looked much more "kept" when the Cremeens family lived there. James and his wife had also built the garage out front at left by the road. The farm was 80 acres, on the Ford-Vermilion County line. The children went to school at Rankin.
