Originally Alvin High School. Last used as Alvin Grade School & Junior High School. My brother-in-law graduated from eighth grade in 1970 from this building. The school closed that year and students transfered to Rossville, IL. Photo is looking east. The building was torn down about 20 years ago.

Bismarck High School. When I was going there in the 1980's, the library was on the second floor. The lunchroom and a number of classrooms were behind it, as was the Wilcox Gymnasium. The jr high gym was to the left, and the music rooms and the jr high classrooms were beyond that.

It's not the elementary school, because that building had a distinctive tower -- I was a student there in sixth grade, '78-'79. Could it have been some other kind of building in Bismarck, one that was already gone by the time I was old enough to remember? (We moved into the area in 1969, but I was all of two years old most of that year, so not very many memories from that time).
