Swimming beach at Indian Springs Farm, a wooded recreation area 12 miles north by northwest of Danville, IL. Man-made lake (called Horseshoe Lake?), trailer lots, camping, some private homes.
I spent the weekends here with my family sometime around 1973. Best memories of my childhood. I was 8 or 9. We used to bring friends and send them snipe hunting, played shuffle board and went fishing at what I remembered as falls. My mom made us a life sized indian teepee. What I wouldn't do to spend another weekend with all of them again.
My family camped at Indian Springs almost every weekend. Around 1970-1972. We swam and fished and enjoyed the wooded area. Went to horse stables. Made many wonderful memories.
Hi Kim, thank you for sharing your memories of Indian Springs in the early 70s. It sounds like you frequently enjoyed the natural amenities of the area. Is there anything specific that stands out in your memories about that time period? We hope the Vintage Aerial photo of Vermilion County jogs your memory about this special place and brings back some happy recollections.
