Farm home of Albert H. Anning ("Ab") who was one of the first paid firefighters In Sterling Illinois. This was on Manton Road a bit north of the cemetery. He farmed with horses for years, and two sons, Bud and Jack, built homes south of this one (to the left). Those pale things in the yard at lower left corner are cottonwood stumps. They were huge trees but were cut down after one fell in a storm and nearly hit the house.
