Jesse Francis Farm 1960-90 (approximate years).
My parents, Mark & Ruth Stoecker bought this house in the spring of 1989, I had just turned 10 years old. I just bought the house from them in May and will raise my family here. Love it here and so do my kids. All the buildings are gone now, the corn crib was just tore down last month. I wish all the trees in this picture were still standing.
So wonderful to hear you love it. The Jesse and Velma were my grandparents and all of us grandkids loved it there too. The rich soil definitely was "Garden Plain".
The barn had round whole tree logs supporting the upper floor. The house was the second home built on this site. At one time a limestone building also stood near the house. Grandparents farmed and raised eggs to sell at local food stores.
