Frozen custard stand
This is Barber's Corners, named after Captain John Barber. Barber's Corners Implement Co., owned by Delbert Breitweiser, is in the foreground. This was an Allis Chalmers and New Holland dealership. Delbert and his wife Violet were active leaders in local 4-H clubs. Delbert was a pilot and member of the International Flying Farmers. Violet was the very first Illinois Flying Farmer queen in 1951. In the late-1950s, the Breitweisers hosted "Farm Night" parties at Valley View School, featuring Lulabelle and Scotty, the famous due from the days of WLS radio (Chicago) barn dances.
