Downtown Garrett, Indiana! TONS of changes here. The Sunoco is now a Circle K, most of the houses are gone along the road, and all businesses are different now. From right to left, the buildings on the bottom row were home to the following businesses around this time (my source is a photograph in the Indiana Memory Digital Collections, Indiana Landmarks Collection): Bernard R. Brennan Insurance, the headquarters of Haffner Stores (a five and dime chain), Seifert Appliance, an unknown store, and a bank. Today, there is a hair salon, a barbershop, a hardware store, and a real estate office. Despite changing a lot over the years, Garrett is still nice and thriving.
