Howard & Della Alcorn lived here from 1969-2005.

This was the old Sparks farm. Raymond Sparks lived here before we moved here. Norman Lambert bought this farm in the late 60's.

My Grandfather, Thomas Jefferson Sparks (known as TJ, or Jeff) and my Grandmother Zoda (yes, this is her correct spelling) purchased and moved to this farm in Dec 1919, after TJ sold his general store in Kentucky. They raised a large family on this working farm, TJ became a well known and successful local farmer. He did custom milling for area families in the barn to the left in photo with a large Hit&Miss engine and grist mill. Raymond Sparks, one of their sons, was my Dad. I spent many wonderful weekends with my grandmother and Aunt Bessie in this house, playing Checkers, Chinese Checkers, and Dominos in the evenings, playing in the barns and on the farm during the day. My interest in history and old barns and houses was fostered in this house, built about 1880.
Norman Lambert purchased the farm after my grandmother's death in September 1969, just three months shy of fifty years since TJ purchased it.
