This is my families homestead. This picture made me tear up. It's not the way it used to be. I used to build forts in the barm with my cousins and brother, hang out in the shop with my grandfather, and zoom around on the Gator. The grain leg is over 100 feet and I remember being able to see downtown from the top. This is no doubt my favoriate place in the whole world. So many good memories.
In the last 40 years the hog house has been removed (bottom right). The grain center is much bigger and there is taller silos. The little outhouse behind the house isn't there anymore. The barm has been painted white. And some trees have been cut down. Also there is almost nothing on the proberty anymore. After my grandfather died we had a huge estate sale, there used to be old cars, tools, equipment, and parts everywhere.
