Sweet Owen Speedway on SR46 at Jordan Village Road. It was built and ran by Dale Dubois (cousin of mine) and his family. It was only open for a couple years.
A couple of newer buildings now sit in front of it.

Rand both a sprint car with Danny Bowlen driving there 1n 1964 and a TQ midget with myself driving in 1965. It is a shame it closed. It was a good honest race track.

Dale Dubois, built the sweet Owen racetrack... let's get it right folk's!
Max Cooper was the owner, Dale Dubois was just Leasing it out, from Max Cooper

Max Cooper was owner and the operator!

We used to go to Sweet Owen and Paragon too. Two seperate tracks. Some now think that Paragon is the old Sweet Owen track which is crazy. I've been back to Indiana many times and actually driven past the old Sweet Owen track. Those were the days. Slim Simpson and I'm trying to think of some other names of drivers.

I spend many a Saturday night there with Sam Stockon racing Street Stocks. He won several races there. I remember a guy brought it to the attention of the Pit Stewart,Bernie Gibson, that our body was a 1969 Chevelle on a 1957 frame. So on the way home that night we laid plan to find a 57 body and re skin it. 2 weeks later as we past the track we honked and drove right on by to Paragon only to come back other nights and beat them with the same car. Fond memories.

Omg my dad and uncle and a lot of great guys become friends there I loved going to sweet owen my dad was Ronnie rhodes #66 and uncle Ira Bastin I remember Don Duncan Sam cooper dDoc wiles Zikes and Carmichael and Ernie Barrow and Larry & Rod Harris I have all my dads trophies great times as a kid

My dad fielded car here off and on for Shorty Deckard and Jack DuBois. Homer Galyan, Don Hobbs, Frank Nichols were some of my favorite drivers. Most favorite memories of my childhood were at this track.
