This photo of my grandparents, De Jong shows most of the buildings, garden spots, and orchard had disappeared from what I remember. The building seen in front of the tree near the left side is the old Chester,one-room school. I attended it for first year of school. Grandpa moved the school from the east side of the farm onto his home area. It was used as a storage building. Buildings along the road are gone. If you look closely, you can still see the working windmill, which brought up water for the livestock.
