This is the old Cowgill farm. In 1981, when this photograph was taken, this was owned and operated by Mr. Jay and his wife Mary Cowgill. They had two sons. I don't remember the older one's name, but the younger one was Kurt. Wonderful gracious people, and they kept their farm looking immaculate. Cowgills were friends of my Grandparents. When my Grandmother moved to Packwood, she'd let me spend time out on Jay and Mary's farm, where I'd do small chores like mowing. To a city kid like me, that was FUN! Riding a Cub Cadet mower, and getting something productive done. I loved spending Summers in and around Packwood Iowa. Packwood is a tiny town. Less than three hundred people live there.
