Luverne Williamson farm. Since 1971 photo, notice the barn that mom didn't like is now gone, we now have the dryer and pit, and a new Butler building. Also the huge elm trees north of the house are gone. I remember Dad had a guy come with a big tree spade and move tall spindly trees from the grove to around the house to replace them, but they aren't in this photo. The two trees you do see northwest of the house by the lane are what my sister and I called our "climbing trees". Mine was the one farthest from the house. I have a nasty scar on my left arm from the day I slid down that tree and caught my arm on a small branch that had been sawed off, with jagged point straight up. Had to go to emergency room in Spencer that day. Mom made me hold a towel on my arm all the way to town. I kept peeking at the wound, because I could see my bone!
