Dwight and Joyce Jamison rented this farm from Walter Betz who lived in Polk City. Betz house in Polk City was recently demolished to make room for a new city hall to be built in its place.
Belive we moved from Waukee to the Betz farm in March 1959. The house had indoor plumbing however no bathroom. Had an outhouse. When the outhouse wore out, instead of an indoor bathroom we got a new outhouse. We lived on this farm until March 1965 when we moved east to a dairy farm owned by Alvin Hitz. (I belive the years are correct.) Biggest change is I've heard the house now has an indoor bathroom. 🙂
Hello Cheryl,
Indoor plumbing is always nice. When you lived here, was it an active farm?
Nathan, yes was a working farm. My Dad was a dairy farmer. Milked Ayshires. This farm is on 118th black top running between Hwy 69 and Polk Cityy.
