no longer a camp ground
Some of the best times growing up were spent there. had several friends there that I would have had but for Shady Hills and Evelyn and Harold
I spent my Summers here some of the best times of my life. Good times and good Friends!!!!
My dad brothers and I camped here for several years from the late 1970's until the early 80's. We had a camper at towards the end of the long road that leads down to the pond on the right. Loved the large swimming lake/pond with the swim up dock and beach. Loved the pony rides on Saturday mornings. If you were caught being a litter bug, you couldn't ride the ponies that morning. The office/game room was a great place to go get candy or a soda and play a game of foosball maybe pool as well? The rec hall with the juke box open on the weekends was a great place to hang out and listen to music with friends along with the ocassional potlucks and other holiday events. There was horse shoe throwing for the adults as I remember too. Across the lake/pond from our campground swimming pond was always known to us campers as ground owned by an Indian reservation. Some campers had gone across the pond/lake to explore friendship with them. Very fun camping experience! Very fun for kids, teenagers, and families! So glad we had these years of camping at Shady Hills Campground, wish there was another campground around like this again!
