My dad Bill Early bought this farm and I moved in around 1969. Way before the tornado. And the big trees are there❤️

Hi Janis! Thank you for sharing your memories of the farm. It's wonderful to hear about your father's purchase and your move in 1969. Do you have any specific memories of that time or how the area looked back then? We'd love to learn more about the history of the farm and how things have changed since the photo was taken in 1977. What kind of farming have you and your family done on the property over the years?

We raised chickens for egg laying and broilers for food. The 2 smaller buildings to the bottom left were for that. Those are now gone and the old chicken house in the upper right corner is gone. The 2 big trees in front of the house are gone, too. A tornado came through in 1995 and took out many trees and several buildings were damaged including the house. The picture window on the east side blew out . Dad raised cattle in the pastures and farmed the land with my twin brother Jon. I now own the farm as they have all passed away. Dad used to rent out the farmland 1 1/2 miles to the north of this farm. I wonder if there are any pictures of that. There is 1 large pine tree that stills stands on the corner. It is on Adams Street but 3 miles west of Creston. The big old house and barn are gone now.
