Presently live here. Have since 1988 when we purchased it from General Johnson. Has gone through many changes. Found a note in a bottle during the remodel process that stated the house was built by Jim Thomas in the fall of 1899. He and his brother were Bala originals. They built many houses in the area. Our abstract says the house was built in 1931, but figure that was when a small addition was built onto the house to bring the plumbing inside. The house was originally owned by John Davies and his two old maid sisters,Mary and Sarah that were teachers in the local schools lived with him. They are all buried in the Bala cemetery
