My great-grandparents Vernon and Audrey Going purchased this property in the 1950s and retired here from Lake Charles around 1960. My parents lived in a trailer at the top left corner of this photo 1981-1985. We visited here several times a year, and I have many happy memories roaming the pastures and exploring the woods and ponds. Audrey died in 1984, and Vernon lived here until his death in 2000. The house, a ca. 1940s frame house, is gone now.
