Jimmy Conant farm on the Conant Road in Fort Fairfield. Barn is gone and potato house has been replaced with a metal structure.
This is the Conant farm located on the Conant Road in Fort Fairfield. This house is still occupied by family, my niece and her husband and family. I lived here until 1971.
The barn is gone now and the potato storage has been changed to a newer structure.
I worked on this farm as a young girl of 10 years old! I picked potatoes for Jimmy Conant because I was not quite old enough to work on my family's farm next door....Ashby Farm! I earned .50 / barrel and remember how thrilled I was to get my paycheck and final earnings of $100 that fall! This farm is the neighboring farm to ours! Great memories!
