I. Think this is the Whittier farm on old Washburn rd

No, this is the Elbert Fowler farm on the Fowler Road (then known as Creed Road) off from the Woodland Center Road. He purchased the farm in 1949 and lived there for 60 years (until his death). In the photo, the chassis of his brand-new 1965 potato truck is seen parked at the end of the trees. Elbert had been mowing with the tractor on the right; he is visible in the photo, walking toward the barn door. The potato house across the road was demolished in the 1980's. The house and barn still look much the same today except for roofing and siding. We have this same photo in color. The buildings have been sold but the land remains in the family. Elbert planted much of the land with pine trees so that it wouldn't grow up in bushes.

The Raymond and Gladys Whittier farm is at 52-03

Elbert and Idella Fowler were the tax collectors for many years in Woodland. This is where you would come to pay your taxes.
Great memories
