This is in Petit Montagne, near the intersection with Lavertu Settlement rd.

Alfred Levesque Family Homestead , now belongs to Joel Levesque (my Dad)

I am the youngest of Alfred Levesque's children, Bertrand. I had 7 brothers and seven sisters. The age range was so diverse than when I was in high school, there was only my father Joel, Roland, and I at home.

My dad (Lionel Levesque) grew up in that house. Great memories of visiting my Pepere Levesque .

Alot of good memories at this homestead my dad's father lived there Lionel Levesque I'm the oldest of Lionel son daniel

My husband Lionel levesque was born and raised there I have the original photo

I was brought up the third neighbor from the Levesque's, ours was the Chasse' homestead. Mr Levesque would fill the car up maybe twice every summer and bring us to the drive-in. I used to be one of my best friends. Wonderful people

Simon

I remember this place well - mon oncle "Alford"/Alfred. We were the "next door" neighbor to the north - over a mile away. We'd sometimes go play with cousins there.

My dad, Alphe Levesque, oldest son on Alford Levesque, grew up here. We would visit once a year in the summer because mom and dad moved to Ct. for better job opportunities. Uncle Roland would show us how to harvest the chicken eggs and then we would play in the bails of hay stacked in the barns. Being city kids we loved the farm life. But, only now do we appreciate the hardships of living in a farmhouse with no central heat, no electricity, just a wood stove for heat in the winter and no electricity until my dad was 18 years old. He had some great stories of the not so simple live. My grandmother was a saint for raising all those children.

Hello Rita,
Thank you for the information. This is a great story. According to the pin on the map, this property is no longer there. Does this location look correct?

Yes because Jean Oullette, nÊe Levesque, daughter of Joel Levesque, my father's brother still owns the house and land although he did sell some land. The youngest son of Alford, Bertrand Levesque, lives in Fort Kent. You can reach him for any questions or Jean who used to own Martin's Motel in Madawaska. The barns are gone but the house is still there although it looks different now.
