Ernest Gendreau formerly live here, now occupied by John Gendreau - Little Mountain Road, St. David, ME.

My grandfather, Jos Gendreau, built this home in 1930. In 1948, his son Ernest purchased the farm and he and his wife raised their four children until his retirement. His son, John, and his wife raised their two children and still occupy the home.

My father, Fernand Plourde is Aunt Lucille's brother (Linda's Mom). We would visit their farm often. After we moved to Conn. my parents would visit every time they came to Maine. My niece once brought once of Uncle's Ernie's big potatoes to her school (in Glastonbury Conn.) She had drawn it on paper the day before her teacher thought she was exaggerating. So, the next day she brought it in for show and tell. She gave it to her teacher and not only did he keep it on his desk for quite some time, he shared it with his family on a special occasion at thanksgiving. So you see, Uncle Ernie was a big hit even in Conn. I have very fond memories visiting their farm. That's a beautiful house. Thanks for the memories Linda. Greta.

Joseph Gendreau is my grandfather. His daughter Edwina is my mother. I remember staying there in the summer and visiting Uncle Hector and Uncle Willard next door to grandfather Gendreau. We came to St. David on vacation from New Jersey. What has changed? Well I turned 75. When I go back to Maine I always visit Grandpere Gendreau's home. To me this is a piece of heaven.
