I believe this is More Acres Farm on More Acres Rd. In East Dixfield, ME.
This is actually not More Acres Farm. In 1963 this farm was owned by Merle and Viola Thompson. The road that intersects with the old RT 2 (More Acres Road) is now called the Smith Rd formally known as Thompson Hill Rd. Before Merle and Viola bought this farm around 1951, it was owned by Alton and Florence Coolidge. Florence used to run a nursing home of sorts in the house and was also a midwife. Many of the children born in the 1940's in East Dixfield were born in this house. Today, the barn next to the Smith Rd is gone and the place is now the location of Max-Traps- quality ice fishing traps built right here in East Dixfield. The More Acres farm is actually shown in photo 19 of this roll of film.
Thanks the information Zach Smith, do you have any historic pictures of these building that I could get a copy of to place in the historical society collection? richardcorey207@gmail.com Thanks
