Gordon motors ( pontiac) reidfield depot

My uncle Nelson Gordon was owner of this business. I worked there in the mid 1950s pumping gas and doing grease end oil
jobs. Business now gone, and building being torn down . My wife grew-up just west (left on the picture) of the RR tracks and across the street.

Chris Dumaine lived in my home 75 years ago! He knows Readfield. The area just left of the main building is now the Maranacook Market (closed). To the right (and out of the photo) is the old schoolhouse which is now the Readfield Historical Society.

I was told that the main building featured here was the original depot station and was once located next to the tracks. An old timer I met in the Maranacook Market said his family used to buy their cars there in the 1950s. Now, it is being slowly torn down day by day.
