Smiley Farm now on the Neck Road in China

317 Neck Road, China, ME. The Smiley Farm. From what can be seen in this photograph this property is much the same, though the roof over the main house and its front porch are now metal and there have been additions built to the rear of the barn seen here. All buildings in this photograph are still standing.

We purchased this property in 1956 and I still call it home. My husband, John, worked for the state Department of Agriculture and farmed this property, raising Hereford cattle and Dorset sheep. There are not many changes to the property since this picture was taken other than an addition to the back of the barn.
