This was the farmhouse owned by Mrs. Annie Porter when I was a child. It's currently owned by Senator & Mrs. Rodney Whittemore (of Whittemore & Son's in Skowhegan) and is used as a rental property. The house actually sits backside to the highway! That's because the original road ran in between the front of house and barn. The kitchen was remodeled sometime in 1950s and had many of the modern conveniences of its day. The house next door to this one also faces "the wrong way". This is located on Rte 201, Skowhegan, Maine.

This residence is currently owned by Senator & Mrs. Rodney Whittemore (also owners of Whittemore & Sons, in Skowhegan). The Whittemores use this as a rental property. Their home is located next door to this property. When I was growing up, this was the residence of Mrs. Annie Porter. This is one of two homes on Route 201 in Skowhegan in which the road runs along the backside of the house. That's because when this and the other house was built, Route 201 actually ran directly in front of the house and between the barn. The barn still stands today.
