This farmhouse as pictured was built by my grandfather, George Emery. in the late l800's . Vera Hanson and Ena Plummer were born there. Vera in l897 and Ena shortly thereafter. He hand milked several cows and his wife Evelyn
made butter which was sold to customers in Hartland. He relied on draft horses to farm and yard wood. I spent many
summers in the late 30's and 40's helping to pitch hay onto a "jigger" and load the barn loft with the hay. Gramp sold the
farm to Andrew Tweedie in the late 50's or early 60's. George Dami later purchased and made many renovations. The property is presently (2015) up for sale.

Barn replaced with garage. Location is on the Finson Rd. in St. Albans, Me.

I remember George and Evelyn, (who I called Mr. and Mrs. Emery). Not sure why but remember going to the farm with my father, Lionel Parker. Had to be around 1940 to '44 as dad died in 1945. It could have been for hay as I had a horse to feed. Did he sell hay?
