I grew up in this house in the 1980's. It's on Route 2 in East Mercer. My dad tore down the chicken coop out back because it was near collapse. The maple trees in the front are gone now was well.
I believe the Wallace family owned this farm for a number of years, maybe even generations. Larry and Linda Sargent bought it in 1978, and lived there until 1985. The Sargents made significant renovations in that time. They added the front deck, tore down the chicken coop out back, built the small barn in the field, added a basement under the dining room and kitchen, and added the aluminum roof to the barn. The Norridgewock town sheriff grew Christmas trees on the lot east of the brook. A nice family has owned it since then. Everyone loves this house. :)
