My maternal grandfather, Warren Bessey, Sr., and grandmother, Mona Bessey, raised 9 children on this farm at 34 Patterson Bridge Rd. in North Anson. (About half of them were born here). My aunt, Rose (Bessey) Oliver, and uncle, L. Wendall Oliver, traded houses with them in the 1950s when they needed a bigger home, and my grandparents wanted to downsize. Wendall passed away in 2012, and Rose passed away in 2014. The old barn was burned down before Wendall and Rose's children sold the house.
