This is the old Arron's farm on reid road formerly the Patterson Ridge Road.Ken and Joe Schweikert occupied it in the early seventies until it was torched after I personally dismantled this house around 1976 and incorporated lots of the lumber in my buildings that are on my land which was once a part of this property. Fred Arrons and his wife were noted for their tidy gardens and the fact that they did not have a car but rode bicycles and wore white clothing. He repaired bikes and radios and the rumor was that he was a spy during WWII as he had short wave radios. probably no basis to the story but it persisted. Bea Bryant told me they were always kind to her when she was a child and would allow the kids to have pears from the tree in the front yard. I still have the wood from that tree. In the old dumps in the woods are old bike parts and when I tore down the buildings I moved all the old bike parts and buggy parts down to my place and here they set to this day . The house site is now occupied by Jane Sutcliff's house that was moved there from an adjacent field back around 1978. This was the site of many an old Hippie party and several famous musicians performed on the back porch. the fields are now overgrown and all that remains of this homestead is the nice lilac bush in the lower right hand corner.
