This is my husband’s grandparents farm. Last owned by his uncle Bill. Looks pretty much the same. Bill has died and it is now owned by an LLC. The house has been renovated and the barn painted.

Hi Elaine, thanks for sharing that this aerial photo captures your husband's grandparents' farm! It's fascinating to hear about the changes over the years. Could you tell us a bit more about farming activities on the property? We'd love to learn about the crops they grew or any memorable moments from that time. Feel free to share any other memories or details that come to mind!

The barn was built before 1920. It was owned by a logging company named Buckeye Corporation. There was a logging camp run by my husbands Grandpa way back in the woods behind the farm. Buckeye grew hay fields and the barn was built to store hay for the horses used to haul logs out.
Grandpa bought the farm in 1925 and turned it into a dairy farm. Eventually his son took it over. It was a dairy farm until 1998. After Bill’s death a group of cousins bought it and formed an LLC. There are about 600 acres of farm and woodlands. There are no more cows but another local farmer cuts the hay and plants other crops like corn and alfalfa, and clover to harvest for his dairy cows.
