I literally grew up in the North Dorr General Store. My parents Don and Rita Schwartz owned this business from 1963 to 1976. The rear house section had an open door from our living room into the store.
For many years our store was the only retail liquor store between Wayland and Grandville. Our customer base came from many miles around.
The entire North Dorr neighborhood was a really busy place then. A couple dozen baby boomer families and I can easily name 30-40 kids who grew up here.
