This farm was built by my mother and father, Herb and Karly McPeake.

I was half of the couple that built this farm! Two city kids, who had never built anything, but wanted to live in the country, took on the challenge! The barn was our first building attempt. When it stood for a year, we took on building the house. Both require lots of hours and so much help from my family and our friends! We raised 4 children in this house while we lived the life of country farmer. Cows, horses, chickens, ducks, pigs, cats and dogs expanded the family. We had a huge garden and with the help of neighbors cut and baled our own hay! Life was great on the farm! It was one of the happiest times of my life and gave my children a firm foundation on which to build their own lives!
